Touch A Prince Working Lunging Video

Touch A Prince is coming right along.  He is still very mannerly for leading around, and only gets grumpy when I'm tightening the girth.  We went to the arena and worked on the lunge line with the theraband again for this training session.  It was windy and cold this morning, so it was a good opportunity to see him in less-than-desireable circumstances.  I had exactly the same horse as I've had for every training session so far.

Here is some video of him working while wearing the surcingle and theraband.

We went to the indoor arena with the dogs and I set up some ground poles, one on each side of the lunging circle.  Touch A Prince behaved nicely, walking, trotting, and cantering on the lunge line like a gentleman, only occasionally calling to his friends back at the barn.  His friends ignored him, which was sort of disappointing for Touch A Prince, but worked out fine for me.  He did well with the ground poles, and they served their purpose of getting him to think a little more.  I'm eager to have the vet look at him for an initial evaluation on his legs and then hopefully start him over some fences.

After we were done lunging I untacked him and let him loose in the arena to play.  He just sedately wandered around a little.  He had a good roll on each side in the sand, then I haltered him again and we moseyed back up to the barn.  He has been such a reasonable fellow, very professional and business-like.
