Settling in at Estes Park

We spent the weekend in Estes Park, Colorado!  The Northern Division of the Colorado Arabian Horse Club was holding a show at the fairgrounds, and they added a bunch of open (any breed) classes so we brought the barn!  Highlights of the weekend included the all breed sport horse class, featuring a Fjord, Thoroughbred, Haflinger, Arabian, and a Friesan!  We also had a great time celebrating a 30th birthday for a horse my friend owns.  Carrot cake for all!  Kim won the egg and spoon class with Tao the haflinger, and the toilet paper class was an extra challenge with the (literal) very short supply of TP.

We arrived to find that there were two other organizations at the grounds this weekend as well, the Miniature Horse show, and the Westernairres.

At one point the show was put on hold so that we could all run for cover into a barn while dime-sized hail crashed out of the sky in the loudest roar possible!

We had some CRAZY weather this weekend.   Thunder, rain, hail, lightning, heat, and cold!
