Everyone has a "side" to them. It's why people are left or right-handed. Joan's default and automatic reaction when riding is to turn left, probably because she is right handed. In addition to correct leg position, Joan has been working on creating flow and rhythm to her jumping. It's interesting to compare the video where they are going to the left with the video of them going to the right.

I'm really proud of Joan and June. They adore each other, and get along so well together. June much prefers jumping with Joan to doing ANYTHING with me. June is forgiving of mistakes (as long as Joan is the one making them!) and always looks pleased with herself after a ride. I have to give huge bonus points to Joan, too. It is a challenging thing to learn to ride horses as an adult, and it is ballsy of her to dig in and learn jumping as an adult as well. Her tenacity is admirable, and June loves her for it. Probably because June is the same kind of personality.
