This morning I took the small animals to the vet for their vaccines and annual sundries. Mahzi was the only one not in attendance, she got to go last week because I wanted extra blood work done on her. She's healthy and happy, so now it was time to take everyone else in to Paws N Claws to make them street legal. I worked as a veterinary technician at this clinic for years prior to establishing Bit of Honey Training and making the switch to working with horses full time, so it's always a fun reunion when I go back and visit.
I arranged the Subaru carefully. I had Nase and Forrest (the new border collie chose this name, so now that's his new title) in the very back because they can jump in since they have all their legs. Miles got to ride shotgun next to me. Z and Sabbath the barn cats were in their crates in the back seat. Unloading everyone at the clinic was sort of like watching a circus clown car act unfold. The animals just kept coming!
The appointment went well, everyone is healthy and up to date on all their vaccines and medical details. Other than one dog pooping on Sarah's boot in the lobby, and one cat having a colonic explosion in her crate we came out of it mostly unscathed. The cats were happier in their crates rather than loose with the dogs following them around in the exam room, so they aren't in the photos. The dogs were more than happy to oblige my photographic nonsense, though!
