We arrived at the show and Miss Pea was very excited. She unloaded fine from the trailer, but when we went to the arena to hand walk and let her look at everything she got a bit wound up when the loudspeaker was turned on. That makes sense, because her previous experience with loudspeakers was probably at the track and with the excitement of racing. She settled in well, though, and ended up lunging quietly at the trot in the warm up.
I've had a long week full of riding and teaching, so I was tired and dizzy and not able to ride her at the show. Miss Pea spent the morning tied to the trailer enjoying her hay bag and making friends with the Bit of Honey crew that showed up to cheer, as well as sampling the alfalfa from the field where we were parked. Overall a wonderful laid back trip to the horse show just five minutes from home, and Miss Pea was able to see that our shows can be quite leisurely.
She was cute, waiting at the gate for her turn to get into the horse trailer to go on an adventure!
