Introducing Monty Python for Sale!
Meet Monty Python! He is as fun to ride as his name suggests. I have had the pleasure of working with this lovely gelding for the last couple months to get him ready to be sold to a new home. He is a privately owned Thoroughbred who last raced in June of 2014 and has been let down nicely. He is very quiet to ride as long as he's not eating alfalfa hay (I totally get it, I get jittery when I have caffeine!). Monty is even a bit lazy in the arena, and would be suitable for an amateur wanting to do low level eventing. Some video of him jumping can be seen here:

Monty has schooled water, jumped logs, ridden out of the arena and galloped fields, jumped to 3' in the arena, and is currently working at training level dressage and schooling some first level movements. He can be a bit dominant when being handled by a new person on the ground, so he is not recommended for a beginner. However, once he knows the established boundaries for ground manners he is very easy to work with in hand and quite pleasant under saddle.
Because we had so much rain over the last week my ponds have refilled, so Monty and I went out with Miles the border collie and schooled water today. Monty was hesitant at first to get his feet wet. When I asked, Miles my best-horse-training-dog-ever ran in and out of the ponds a bunch of times to demonstrate how it was done and that it wasn't too deep. Monty watched Miles a few times and decided it wasn't a big deal and he could do it, too. Two videos I took from Monty's back can be viewed here:

Monty is a 2009 gelding, so he is currently 6 years old, 16.1 hand tall. His sale price is $11,000. He is registered with the Jockey Club as Pylorus, and he is incentive fund registered with the Thoroughbred Incentive Program, USEA, and MSEA as Monty Python. X-rays of front legs are available. He wears regular shoes all around because of the typical thin TB soles, and is current on vaccinations, deworming, and dental work. His sire is Sharp Humor, and his dam is Sugar Gal by Fortunate Prospect.
Monty will be showing in the 2' hunters in Longmont at Triple Creek Ranch this Saturday, 5/16. He will also be competing in Parker at the Colorado Horse Park in the beginner novice division of the horse trial 5/29-31. Monty is available to be seen and ridden at Bit of Honey Training.
Feel free to get in touch with questions about Monty or to schedule an appointment to meet him. Kim can be contacted at 970-231-9999 or bitofhoneytraining@gmail.com
