Sept 4-5, just a few short weeks away, we will be hosting a
Bit of Honey clinic using the Balance Rider. Many of you have ridden
this delightful (aka challenging) piece of equipment in my tack room,
and now we have put together a weekend to let you really experience how
the sensations and perceptions of riding can be altered by heightening
your sense of seated balance.
Friday night will be
desserts, a meet and greet, and getting to know Jim Lauter, who
developed the Balance Rider. I've known Jim for many years and he is
fun to hang out with as well as being knowledgeable! Saturday will be a
series of appointments. You will come tack up your horse (or one of
mine if you need to borrow a lesson horse), then work on the Balance
Rider in the tack room with Jim for a half hour. Immediately following
your session with Jim you will mount your horse and have 45 min. of
riding instruction with me in the arena. It is fun and interesting to
see how the Balance Rider changes how you perceive your horse and his
movement, and how that increases your confidence.
