Introducing Curio

Because it's always more fun to go to summer camp with a friend, Curio arrived here earlier in the week with his stablemate, Fauline.  They are nearly exactly the same age as yearlings, but Curio is a very different personality.  While Fauline is brassy and dominant, Curio is quiet and thoughtful.  He's also huge, and is in the midst of adjusting to a giant body that has grown tremendously in a short period of time.  Kimberly Hale Photography got some amazing shots of him playing in the round pen today.

Curio spent some time playing with the dogs and showing off some of his more athletic moves.

After we were done in the round pen I took Curio to the barn to experience being hosed off.  He wasn't sure that it was a good idea, but once he realized the cold water felt kind of nice on a nearly 100 degree day he stood calmly while I soaked his front legs and chest.

I love this face - the expression of a baby horse learning about getting soaked with hose water for the first time.

He has just a darling baby face, and with his cute teeth and tongue you can't help but go, "awwww!"
