Mahzi, my border collie - turned - black lab enjoying house dog life. Yes, she always sleeps with her tongue sticking out. No, I don't think we can convince her to go back to the working dog lifestyle even if we wanted to.
However, this bird landed on the living room windowsill and stared down Mahzi yesterday. She began to bark at it, but it kept staring at her. Then it moved to the railing and proceeded to thumb it's nose at my 85 lb dog. This went on for several minutes, and though it finally flew away Mahzi continues to patrol the windows growling occasionally. Protecting us from Intruders, she takes her job seriously. Later it returned with two identical friends, and then Mahzi had to protect us from not one but three birds. I had to put her in the laundry room to chill out for a while until she forgot about them.
